Halloween Skate

Sheffield Samurai Halloween Skate

On Thursday 31 October our Under 10’s held their first Spooky Skate. It was very
well attended by the Under 10’s team as well as a few Under 12’s and 14’s.
Although it was supposed to be just a fun get together we still managed to raise
about £140 by selling amazing cakes baked by the very talented Helen Rushby
and holding a fastest shot competition.

The winner of the Fancy dress competition was Gabriel Fisher who came as a
very creepy looking mummy. Gabriel won 6 free skate grinds kindly donated by
Puckstop.com. Second place went to Ethan Wilcox as the Joker and Third place
went to Lily Exley as a ghoulish Prom Queen. Well done kids you all looked
fabulous!

The fastest shot competition was very popular with the kids – some of them have
mighty shots!

The winner was James Howitt with a whopping 90mph followed by Aaron Smith
with 79mph and Ben Norton with 76mph. As James was a bit older than most of
the children that took part, he very kindly donated his prize of on ice Steelers
Mascot to Courtney Smith.

I would like to thank Claire Bloor for donating some of the goody bags, Naomi Lee
for painting some very realistic wounds on faces, Nicky Wilcox for bringing along
her box of face painting tricks and of course I have already thanked Helen for her
beautiful buns! Finally a big thank you to all those who came along, you made it
a great evening.
